A Little Late

I'm just a little late in getting my older brother, Andy, a birthday gift. His birthday was WAY back in April but this gift would have meant nothing back then and I didn't even have it started back then.

Also a special thanks to Nate for being my model!

Andy wanted it made out of wool. He also picked the colors

The hat part was fairly easy as was the mohawk part! The hardest part was crocheting the border around the hat. I'm a knitter not a crocheter!!!!!

Home Made, Best Made!

Can you guess what this will be? A dishcloth! My Mother loves these dishcloths that I make. They hold up so much better than the ones you get at the store. And she likes picking out the colors herself. The yarn that I use is Lily Sugar 'N Cream 100% cotton yarn. It makes the perfect dishcloths. And then when they do get holes in them they make great reusable rag cloths to use on our floors or bathrooms.

The pattern that I use I got off of the Lily Sugar 'n Cream site but you now have to "sign up" to get to their patterns. =( Good thing I printed it off when they were totally free. I would share but that would be against the copy right laws.

Wonderful Seasons

God has planned everything out so perfectly! He knows we can't handle everything at once so He made seasons for us.

As the garden and canning have come to a close it's time to make plans for the next season. The season of sewing, knitting, spinning, quilting, etc! I'm making my list of winter activities that I want to get done. We shall see if I get everything on my list done =)

I have a pile of fabric down there waiting for me. I'm planning on making some skirts with most of it. I also have 3 packages of wool waiting for me, olive green, navy blue, and a raspberry.  Three colors that will look great together for maybe a pair of mittens for myself! Which will lead me to my last winter activity . . . . knitting. Mittens, and Hats, and Socks, Oh MY!
