I've been very crafty these past few days. After I was done with the children's slippers and my mittens I just kept going.
I made a pair of mittens for both my future sister-in-law and my brothers girlfriend! And I attempted to make my Mom some as well but ran out of yarn on the second mitten so she'll have to pick some more up if she wants the other mitten. I used the same pattern as mine but used different yarn on both. I made the ribbing on the blue ones longer than the purple ones. And I used two strands of yarn for the purple ones. A regular cream and a funky purple that is hard to knit by itself.
And a new life has come into the world!!!!!!!!!! My uncle had a baby! Well . . . . . . . my uncle didn't, his wife did..... LOL
So I quick knitted a baby hat and a pair of baby booties because we're going to see them this Saturday.
Baby Hat pattern can be found here - The
pattern is for a preemie but I've found that it stretches a lot and
will fit on a normal baby's head. I use bamboo knitting needles and find
that the stitches don't slip as easily as on metal ones. It's a pattern
that knits up fast!!! I can knit one up in an hour or two if I don't
get any interruptions.

New Mittens
Yesterday I made a pair of mittens for myself. I'm just in a knitting rut! But today I had to come back to real life. There are still chores to do and such ...........
I have to have a pair of fairly thin mittens to fit inside another pair because they aren't warm enough and they are too big for me. But the pair that I had were wearing out. So I used some left over wool yarn from my brother's hat and made some! Bright orange . . . . but they're warm!
I used this pattern. It's an AWESOME pattern!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOOO easy to understand and IF you do get lost they have a glossary to help you out with different techniques. They look so professionally made (If I may say so)! I might make some up to sell in my etsy shop.

Just Because....
Just because I love them . . . . . . . . . and Mom's been bugging me to get these done for over a year now =)
I spent two days knitting slippers for the children.
These are for Sophia - They are very girly. I got the pattern HERE. Once I got to the toe part I switched to DPN so there would be only one seam on the heal.
And these are for Nate. I have to say that Nate's turned out better than Sophia's but she likes them so they'll do until she grows out of them. I used THIS pattern for Nate's. I really didn't follow the pattern, but made changes where I saw fit. I used the pattern as a base.
And because I said I would share a picture. . . . . . Micah got Lightning McQueen slippers for his birthday but they popped a hole in the seam so I fixed those for him as well.
